Three Dimensional Art
During my time in Mr. Mills’ Engineering Design class, I created many three dimensional works. My personal favorite was my creation of the Delorean time machine from the movie, Back to the Future (1985). This model was made using the solid works program and includes not only exterior components but also interior as well. This vehicle has always been of inspiration to me because of how iconic it became after the film premiered. During the creation of this model I realized that three dimensions construction and detailing was something I really enjoyed and has become a personal hobby of mine ever since.
Here is a simple green light from a dock that I created for my English independent study unit. This light is the light on the dock of the Buchanan residence in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (1925). In the novel, Jay Gatsby could be constantly observed trying to reach out for this green light from his dock as if trying to reach out towards a dream. In reality, this light was just that, a dream that could never be reached. In essence, this simple yet powerful symbol is not only one of the recurrent theme in the novel but it is also a powerful representation of the American Dream and how one could never attain it.
-Music-
I enjoy playing a variety of instruments as a way to pass time or when I feel like being creative. I play guitar, piano, drums, and the clarinet, but mostly just my guitar. I played the clarinet when I was in cadet band and in school band, but I always looked forward to using my guitar as the frets were similar to the individual piano keys. Knowing this, I would usually play songs on guitar and then transfer the notes to piano easily.
